Day 11

After church, I decided to explore Yau Ma Tei with Miss 金.

Some interesting signs in YMT. I wanna try their "pot rice" next time...

Day 10

More shopping at Causeway Bay. >.< I am sure I will do more than just shopping in HK later. Trust me.

I think soccer is everywhere in HK because of the World Cup.
Tabo playing soccer@MTR station.

We went to the shops near 百德新街 wow.. this area really reminds me of Sydney/Melbourne.

Day 8-9

Shopping and dinner at Tsim Sha Tsui

I need to find my way to DNA shopping centre to meet up with KC. On the way, I was attracted by the snoopy cafe and the 'Best' New Zealand Shop. The NZ memories came back whenever I pass by NZ gift shops. When will I go there to visit relatives and friends?

Following her instructions on phone, I managed to get to DNA safely. Yea.

Day 7

I went back to Macau for a few days. So technically today is the 7th day in HK. As usual, I brought with me lots of luggage from Macau. And finally my baby Taylor arrived safely in his new home. ^^

Day 6

I started my church visiting in Hong Kong. I tried to remember the few things I've learned at FOCUS. We shouldn't choose a church because of its convenient location. Shouldn't always focus on what this church can give you but rather should see if there are any serving opportunities. Well I guess I can only find these out after more visits and to their fellowship maybe.

The first church I visited was 恩福. I went there with Miss G, my ex-UNSW "colleague"(same building but different boss) and future "colleague" (different organization but same boss). The church building was huge as expected. The gift/book store near the entrance gave me the commercial impression as the first time I went to Hillsong convention centre@Sydney. The worship team was great despite the little conflict between the pianist and the keyboard player. I was touched by the song《選擇相信》- the lyrics "我選擇相信你,我選擇不放棄" kept lingering in my heart. When I youtubed it I can't believe it was originally in some "David Tao" R&B style. Back to the topic, the prayer before the sermon was one of the shortest I've ever heard in my life but it was sincere enough. "主啊, 求祢賜下恩言。" The sermon was surprisingly touching The speaker raised a few interesting questions for Christians. I can also feel her love for the congregation when her 聲音梗咽 a few times. She pointed out Christians nowadays tend to do the minimum to please themselves or to make themselves feel that they have passed certain requirements to be called a Christian. So the point she made was basically -"Why do you want to be a just-passed Christian when the salvation given to you was way more than just 'passed'?" Second point she made was Christians kept asking why can't we do this or that. Then we fell to the old trap of treating the laws as law only, rather than we do all these because we love God and we follow his commandments willingly to please Him. It was a great sermon. The last thing that got my attention was - they are recruiting certified first-aiders to form a risk management team during big events. I am keen to apply what I've learned in the first-aid course and all the OH&S courses before I forgot all of them. Let's see how things go.

After lunch at Langham Place, I decided to walk home for a few reasons, to get familiar with the streets and to burn some fat. ^^ I am not a car fan but on the way home I saw two nice cars . Mini cooper in a mini-exhibition at Langham Place and an eye-catching orange Lamborghini on the street.

Day 5

I didn't update my blog last night since I came back at 11pm and was exhausted after 11 hours of shopping. Let me quickly finish this entry before I continued tidying my place for my visitor tonight.

SOGO is on sale and I guess this makes almost 80% of HK girls crazy. Well, I don't normally like 同人逼. but I do have a few things I wanna get. And my dear friend Miss KC said this will be the best time to do so. So we went to SOGO TST as our first stop. We both ordered one set of Shu Uemura products. I also bought an umbrella. Thanks God I bought it at TST or else I would be all wet when I arrived at Central.

We took ferry to Central and went to Sandymama gallery workshop. This week there was not many products so we just stayed there for less than 5 minutes and kept shopping around. There are many interesting shops in Central and we both agreed that Central was a lovely place for photo taking and shopping. Would definitely bring my camera next time.

Day 4

Headache today. Maybe because of the bad sleep last night. I decided to postpone my Ikea shopping and stay home.

The first thing I googled today was 自然駏蚊方法- I was "wakened" up by the mosquitoes a few times last night. Yet I didn't want to switch on air-con since I felt a bit cold in the middle of the night. After some reading, I decided to go for 香薰駏蚊 since I was planning to buy some 香薰 anyway. So here are what people suggest- Citronella, Lemongrass and Geranium. (The last one sounds like some radioactive chemical?)

After taking Panadol and an afternoon nap, I watched two episodes of Jap drama 無法坦誠相對 . I guess Juri and Eita are the only reasons I follow this drama. Honestly the character of Eita is not as 討好 as in his previous dramas.

Day 3

Seems like many people like my greenish wall. Yea, I like it too. It reminds me of Sodagreen every time I look at it. Will post more photos later when my room is less messy.

First thing I want to say today is.. Thanks God my work permit has come out. Finally.. after the long wait.

To celebrate I decided to make some green tea. ^^ Just kidding. Anyway, my coffee plunger was the only glassware of the right size. It worked well surprisingly. 一物二用. Cleaning was easy as the tea leaves were pressed down and won't stick to the walls.

Day 2

I thought I can sleep without a blanket last night.. since it's so hot. But no.. still need to wear my jacket in the middle of the night. So the first thing that came to my mind when I woke up was.. Ikea!

Before I do that I went to the laundry shop for the first time in my life. I tried to take out all my dirty clothes and I thought..em since it costs the same ($20) for the first 1-6 pounds I will try to make it close to 6. I was a bit nervous when they weighed my clothes and tell me it's 8 pounds. Oh.. I regretted putting all my new socks in to make up the 6 pounds. But yea, next time I'll do a better estimate. ^^

I've been to Shatin a few times. It should be easy. But I realised it's the first time for me to go from Prince Edward. So to be safe I've decided to get a route map from the service desk. It will be in my wallet for the next few months I guess.

So I arrived at Shatin shopping mall safely. I walked by Marks & Spencer and noticed the advertisement "New Bakery Opened" so I've decided to give it a go. I went in and chose my favourite baked apple slice. I was expecting it will be as nice as the one in David Jones, Sydney. Nah... David Jones was much better. It was sour and ..xxx. not good la.

Day 1

5.18.2010 was the official date for my move to my tiny studio apartment in Prince Edward. I quite like the place and the location. Supermarket, market and McDonald are just opposite the street. 7 minutes walk to MTR.

After the fruitful Taipei trip, my luggage has increased significantly.. So I had been busy unpacking and tidying up. Cleaning the bathroom was my 2nd mission. Finally I sat back and tried to play with the internet setting... I had some troubles initially, but thanks to my nice American neighbor I was connected at last...

New Start, New Blog

I've decided to open a new blog, despite the failure of updating my previous one regularly. I'll blame my slow Chinese typing for that. So this time what I'll do is 80% English+ 20% Chinese.

I remember I first came across a song "Englishman in New York" by Sting in my music class in Year 12 in New Zealand. The chorus melody pops out from time to time.. well.. what I want to say is.. I'm a Macauness in Hong Kong. The cultural difference may not be as big as an Englishman in New York but I think I would like to record my life here. Maybe I'll discover some interesting things local HK people wouldn't pay attention to.
