Day 2

I thought I can sleep without a blanket last night.. since it's so hot. But no.. still need to wear my jacket in the middle of the night. So the first thing that came to my mind when I woke up was.. Ikea!

Before I do that I went to the laundry shop for the first time in my life. I tried to take out all my dirty clothes and I thought..em since it costs the same ($20) for the first 1-6 pounds I will try to make it close to 6. I was a bit nervous when they weighed my clothes and tell me it's 8 pounds. Oh.. I regretted putting all my new socks in to make up the 6 pounds. But yea, next time I'll do a better estimate. ^^

I've been to Shatin a few times. It should be easy. But I realised it's the first time for me to go from Prince Edward. So to be safe I've decided to get a route map from the service desk. It will be in my wallet for the next few months I guess.

So I arrived at Shatin shopping mall safely. I walked by Marks & Spencer and noticed the advertisement "New Bakery Opened" so I've decided to give it a go. I went in and chose my favourite baked apple slice. I was expecting it will be as nice as the one in David Jones, Sydney. Nah... David Jones was much better. It was sour and ..xxx. not good la.

Then I kept searching for the way to Ikea. On the way there I've checked out Tom Lee. Saw a white Korg digital piano for $8600 and a Fender Strat for $10000. I left as quickly as possible and hoping the temptation will go away.

I arrived at Ikea finally. I like home decoration so I've spent a few hours walking around by myself before meeing up with Miss KC.

So this is what I've bought today at Ikea (photos to come later):
pillow, blanket, 2 sets of pillow and blanket cover, mug, 2 bowls, 1 lamp shade, rubbish bin, cutlery stand.

I picked up the laundry on the way home. Since I was carrying two big bags from Ikea +8 pounds of laundry, a Pakistan guy was nice enough to help me. He kept on talking to me in some language that I don't understand. I guess it's Cantonese with Pakistan accent. Anyway, I thanked him and went up and opened the laundry bag immediately. I still remember Mr. K, (another Kiwi who is working in HK) told me once how good it feels to have your clothes folded and ironed for you. Now I can feel the warmth when I touched the clothes. Nice.

After the crazy eating style in Taipei, I've decided to go for a light diet..

Final shot of the day before I go to shower.
